Jefferson Parish, LA – Effective Monday, January 9, 2012, Jefferson Parish Government Access Television (JPTV) is available to customers of AT&T U‐verse on Channel 99.
Jefferson Parish Government Access Television continues to be available to Cox Communications customers on Channel 6 in Jefferson Parish.
JPTV Government Access Television programming is now also available on the parish website, www.jeffparish.net, streaming live, around-the-clock, and is available for viewing on smartphones and hand-held devices with internet access.
This service is available through a working partnership between the Jefferson Parish Public Information Office and Swagit Productions, LLC.
The Swagit Cosmos Broadcast System will allow the production and live broadcast of all Jefferson Parish Council meetings in both the Joseph S. Yenni Building on the East Bank and the General Government Building on the West Bank.
All video content archives and live cable stream of Council meetings is accessible from the homepage of the parish website, www.jeffparish.net. Citizens now can view discussion and outcome of specific Council meeting agenda items of interest from the most recent, as well as archived, Council meetings through video indexing of the meeting agendas.
In the event of an emergency, an additional encoder is installed in the Jefferson Parish Emergency Operations Center allowing the parish to further its communication reach and distribution of important information through AT&T U‐verse Channel 99, Cox Channel 6, and the parish website.
