Lakeshore, ON -The Town of Lakeshore, Ontario, expands its transparency by offering a new media archive, featuring live and on-demand broadcasts of council meetings via the town’s website.

‘Lakeshore TV’ is the town’s most recent step in increasing transparency within the community. The town’s new online streaming capabilities will allow residents the ability to watch council meetings anytime and anywhere, as long as there is an Internet connection. Residents can stay current on their own time, or watch meetings live, as they happen, from the comfort of their own home on any PC, laptop, tablet, or smart phone.

The ‘Lakeshore TV’ media library , features live video and archived Town Council meetings. Meetings are indexed, making accessing a specific item quick and easy for end-users. Additionally, a fully integrated agenda with supporting documents offer viewers the option of following along as the meeting progresses.

“Everything about upgrading to online streaming was easy and left us impressed. To have a solution that integrates seamlessly with our Laserfiche document management software is exciting and will no doubt further increase our government transparency. It is great to now be able to stream our meetings live and on-demand online, and we’re eager to see the town’s response to it as well,” Brian Lucier, Manager of Information Technology for the Town of Lakeshore says.

Regular Town Council meetings are held every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. For more information or a full calendar, visit the town of Lakeshore’s website.
