Baytown, TX – Residents in Baytown have a new way to keep in touch with City government. You may call it the next step in convenience; the City calls it the next step in government transparency. Beginning with the February 14 City Council meeting, visitors to the City’s website (www.baytown.org) will able to watch local government in action, live from the comfort of their own internet-ready device.

For those who aren’t interested in watching the meeting live, all City Council meetings will also be available “on-demand” on the City’s website. Visitors interested in a particular item can click on the selected item on the agenda and be taken to that portion of the video recording of the meeting. On-demand video links will be available shortly after the conclusion of each live meeting. Videos are searchable by topic and can be shared via an email link.

In addition to the new video service, the City’s 24-hour television channel (Comcast Channel 16), is now streaming online 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Log onto www.baytown.org and click on the “Media Center” tab to view the channel.
