CITY LAUNCHES WEBCASTING OF COUNCIL MEETINGS
YELLOWKNIFE, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES |OCTOBER 27, 2014
Beginning on Monday, October 27, 2014, members of the public are invited to watch live video streaming of City of Yellowknife Council meetings.
In addition, all Council meetings will be archived and accessible for on-demand viewing. Once archived, the on-demand feature allows for viewers to choose which meeting agenda items, or conversations, they wish to watch and then go directly to that particular video segment of the Council meeting.
The City’s new webcasting feature is compatible with multiple platforms including Windows, Apple and mobile devices. Access to the live video streaming and on-demand viewing is available by visiting www.yellowknife.ca.
“Enhancing communication and community engagement is one of the goals which this Council set when it was first elected to office. Webcasting creates an accessible opportunity for Yellowknifers to be completely informed of municipal decisions at their own convenience,” said Mayor Heyck.
